Full off site clearance sale for UK Coal

Euro Auctions, the UK's leading auctioneers of industrial plant, construction machinery and agricultural equipment, has been exclusively instructed to put under the hammer the entire plant manifests of two UK Coal operations in Northumberland in an '˜everything to be sold' sale on Thursday 18th August.

Included is a wide selection of CAT 777 mining trucks and O&K RH120c face shovels right down to a number of water gulpers, fuel bowsers, overland conveyers, site facilities and a host of other related items and vehicles.

UK Coal, the largest producer of coal in the UK, is in the process of closing down operations at both its Butterwell and Portland Burn surface mines in Northumberland, as they have reached the end of their productive lives.

Much of the meticulously maintained equipment however is still highly desirable so Euro Auctions has been instructed on an exclusive basis to manage the disposal of every item in this one day – full site clearance auction.

“A high level of care and attention went into maintaining each piece of equipment and despite some items being over 20 years old they are all still very productive and in full working order,” comments Jonnie Keys, General Manager for Euro Auctions. “With an upsurge in demand for equipment from across Europe and with softer Sterling exchange rates, this is proving to be a popular event, particularly as so much highly desirable equipment is being offered with no reserve which means that buyers could pick up some real quality bargains.”

Other equipment within this auction includes a fleet of Land Rovers including 90 and 110LWB variants, vehicle mounted cranes and a variety of trucks with different configurations, tractors, graders, dozers & rippers, and fork lift trucks; through to a selection of compressors and even complete steel frame workshops and container based offices, catering units, washrooms and storage facilities.

The sale also includes 880m of belt conveyor (installed by Continental Conveyors Limited) in three sections, 375m, 227m and 278m, which are in excellent working condition and have transported over 2.5 million tonnes of coal at the rate of 250t/hr over the six year life of the mine.

Both sites are around 20 miles north by road from Newcastle International airport. The Butterwell site sale is due to commence at 08:30 on the day with attention moving to the Potland Burn site with the first lot there due to go under the hammer at 13:30. A full internet bidding service is also in operation for these sales.

In addition to this one off customer specific sale, other upcoming Euro Auctions sales comprise: an auction in Brisbane, Australia on the same day with events also scheduled for Leeds on 24-26th August; in Dormagen, Germany on 7-8th September; in Zaragoza, Spain on 14th September; and in Dromore in Ireland on 16-17th September.

Further details and catalogues for each of these events are available on the Euro Auctions website at www.euroauctions.com
