The Galgorm Spa and Golf Resort closed its doors to the public because of the Coronavirus on March 20 but on Friday it signalled its intention to reopen on July 27.

The announcement comes less than 24 hours after First Minister, Arlene Foster and deputy First Minister, Michelle O'Neill confirmed hotels throughout Northern Ireland could start accepting bookings again from June 8.

There is the introduction of the 'COVID-19 Clause' which will afford guests who have booked the option of changing the date of their reservation, holding their existing payment as credit against a future booking or offer a full refund.

All staff and guests entering the hotel must have their temperature taken and if the reading is more than 38°C they will be refused entry and advised to seek medical aid.

Members of staff with a temperature of more than 38°C will be asked to self-isolate for a mandatory seven days before returning to work, while guests will be contacted by the hotel's reservations team to discuss the Covid-19 cancellation policy.

Another sign of just how serious the hotel is about battling COVID-19 is their newly formed Public Areas Cleaning Team equipped with Zoono™ Z-71 Microbe Shield Surface Sanitiser & Protectant.

The Northern Ireland Executive has provisionally announced it intends to allow hotels to begin accept bookings again on June 8 however it is subject to the R number remaining below one - (the R number reflects the scale of infection withing a particular country or region)
