Good Friday date for Model Tractor Show

Open from 2pm until 10pm, the event is suitable for all ages. Organised by National Minitrac in Portrush, visitors can expect trade stands from all the best known brands, including Britains, as well as Universal Hobbies, Repliagro, Ros, Siku, Marge Models and more.

The hand-finished muddy show tractors from Muddyfarm Models are always a highlight of this exciting event, and 25 limited edition John Deere 6125R Show Tractors with front loaders have been created to mark the Show. Sure to be collectible items, the tractors are based on a Britains 1:32 scale model and have been expertly prepared by Muddyfarm Models to give an authentic working look.

There’s also an auction for a one off 1:32 scale white Fendt tractor, and a raffle with the top prize of a 1:16 scale International 1455XL tractor produced by Universal Hobbies worth £120. All proceeds from these will go to Northern Ireland Chest Heart and Stroke William Walker Living Oak Fund.

With nothing else like it in the area, the Northern Ireland Farm Toy and Model Show is a unique miniature agricultural show which appeals to both young and old alike. Offering fun for all the family, there’s a play zone for the kids, while adults can view everything from solar panels and machinery, to drones, dvds, clothing, crafts and giftware. There will even be a small number of tiny farm displays.

Alongside all the tractors are lorries from Corgi and WSI as well as rally cars and other vehicles. Whether you’re present-buying, socialising or simply there for the great atmosphere, the Northern Ireland Farm Toy and Model Show is an event not to be missed.

Beyond the immediate focus of the tiny tractors there has been a complimentary aim to raise funds for local charities and good causes.

At the next Northern Ireland Farm Toy and Model Show on Good Friday the William Walker Living Oak Fund of NI Chest Heart and Stroke is to be the charity partner.

In May 2011, young farmer William Walker from Islandmore near Portrush, suddenly collapsed and sadly passed away. A member of Moycraig YFC, William (25) had been waiting for a heart operation. His mother Priscilla, father Stephen and his sister Claire were left to grieve.

“We wanted to raise funds for NICHS in William’s memory because of the heart condition he lived with. It also helps keep us focused organising events and we feel it keeps us closer to him,” explained the Walker family.

To date £20,363.00 has been raised.
