Chef Owner Gary Stewart took the view that although his business would be detrimentally effected, the lockdown was necessary to safe lives and protect the NHS. He has participated in a fund raiser for NI Scrubs Causeway Coast collecting over £4,000 and commissioned a local artist and muralist to transform his premises window into a colourful tribute in support of the NHS.

As time has moved on, Gary has been continually reviewing his business model and the viability of the possible opening Government guidelines which remain uncertain. He has recently launched a safe and manageable offering called ‘Tartine Gourmet’ which gives local customers the opportunity to order ‘Tartine’ standard meals online or by telephone, details of which are available on their website www.thedistillersarms.com. Menu choices are delivered with detailed instructions of finishing touches required to ensure the contents are to the exacting standards which Gary Stewart and his team are synonymous. Gary is also looking long term and planning to get Tartine back up and running, getting his talented team back to what they do best but for now you can enjoy their great food at home.
