This sale is its premier sale and is its show case event with an extremely strong turnout of bulls and females entered. These bulls vary in age from February 2014 to December 2014 with something for everyone.

The bulls come from the leading Hereford herds in Northern Ireland with many of these herds winning numerous awards during the years. This year there will be bulls from as far west as Newtownbutler in Co Fermanagh and as far east as Newtownards in Co Down, with many coming from Co Armagh and Co Tyrone in between.

Bulls coming to the sale are a variety of horned and polled with some of these bulls having being out wintered thus showing the adaptability if the Hereford breed to thrive in all environments.

On the day all bulls must pass pre-sale checks. In doing this they are required to meet a minimum weight for age guideline set out by the Hereford Cattle Society and a pre-sale veterinary check. This gives purchasers confidence in buying a strong healthy bull fit for purpose.

The judging will start at 11am and the judge for this event is well known local breeder Des Kelly from Ballygawley, who runs the 40 cow plus Mullin and Lurgacullion Hereford herds. The sale will commence at 1pm.

The association would like to thank Dunbia for sponsoring this event and with the Hereford Beef Schemes on offer now is the time to purchase your bull and invest in the future.
