HYB judging award for Brian

Northern Ireland Holstein Young Breeders' Club member Brian Weatherup savoured success at Holstein UK's National Competitions Day held at Newtonrigg College in Penrith.

The young Holstein enthusiast from Carrickfergus was placed first in the junior section of the stockjudging competition, and also won the award for the best set of reasons in his section.

When joined by team member Tom McKnight, Drumbo, the pair were placed third in the junior linear competition.

Andrew Patton from Newtownards took third prize in the senior stockjudging class; while the Northern Ireland team was placed third overall at the national stockjudging competition.

HYB co-ordinator Andrew Kennedy congratulated Brian and the Northern Ireland team members on their achievements.

He also expressed his thanks to Dairy Herd 
Management for its sponsorship of the Northern Ireland team.
