'I have so many great memories': Store manager marks 35 years with Northern Ireland family retailer after starting as sales assistant

A Coleraine store manager who started her career as a sales assistant has been recognised for 35 years of service with Northern Ireland fashion and homewares retailer Menarys.
Sandra Hayes, who joined the family-owned business on June 3, 1991, and has now manage the Coleraine store for 22 years, was honoured during celebrations marking the milestone anniversary.
The retailer said the occasion was marked in-store with presentations, including flowers and gifts presented by managing director Stephen McCammon in recognition of her long-standing contribution to the business.
Sharing the news on social media, Menarys praised Sandra’s commitment and loyalty, highlighting her progression through the company over more than three decades.
Posting on social media, Menarys said: "Huge celebrations in our Coleraine store as we honour our amazing long-serving store manager, Sandra, for an incredible 35 years with Menarys.
"Sandra was presented with flowers and gifts from our managing director, Stephen McCammon, as a small token of our appreciation for her remarkable commitment and dedication over the years."
Reflecting on her time at Menarys, Sandra explained: “I have so many great memories working in the company but one that stands out is the opening of our new store in Coleraine. To see the way our loyal customers turned up on our first day of opening was truly overwhelming.
"I love working in the Coleraine store and have built so many great relationships with our customers.”
The retailer added that Sandra's achievement reflects the loyalty of many long-serving members of staff across the business.
"At Menarys we're proud to have so many team members with 20, 25, even 30-plus years of service — we're not just colleagues, we're family. It's Sandra, and so many others, who truly make the difference every day," the company said.
Thanking her for her years of service, Menarys added: "Thank you for everything you've done for your customers, your team and our business over the past 35 years. Congratulations Sandra."
Established in County Tyrone in 1923, Menarys has grown into a favourite local department store chain, now with 25 stores across Ireland, and is synonymous with quality, style and value.
