Ikea reopening in Northern Ireland - here's everything you need to know

Retail giant, Ikea, is reopening its store in Northern Ireland after it was forced to close in March because of the Coronavirus pandemic.

Ikea's Belfast store, along with 18 other stores in England, will reopen to the public on Monday June 1.

Like the large supermarkets, Ikea will operate a queuing system outside its stores.

Customers will have to adhere to social distancing measures when entering the store.

There will also be extra cleaning and safety precautions and customers will only be able to pay using card.​

Customers are asked to shop alone and should only bring someone from the same household along if they require special assistance or if they have children.

All in store restaurants will remain closed as will all play areas and creches.

Bistros will be open for takeaways, and the Swedish Food Market will be open for those make-at-home meatballs and Swedish favourites. ​

The opening hours for the Belfast store are as follows: Monday to Saturday 10.00am to 8.00pm and Sunday 12.00pm to 6.00pm.
