International tech leaders to inspire at Beltech

Key technology players from across the Atlantic will fly into Belfast later this month to help local tech pioneers inspire digital enthusiasts at this year's BelTech conference.

The third annual event, which is curated by Northern Ireland based digital solutions provider Kainos, takes place over April 21-22 at Titanic Belfast, and promises to be the premier technology event for local software practitioners, business leaders, entrepreneurs and young people aspiring to break into the industry.

Business leaders from around the world, including Jascha Franklin-Hodge, chief information officer for the City of Boston’s Department of Innovation and Technology, and Doug Safford, vice president of technology innovation at Allstate in Chicago will give delegates up to date analysis of emerging technologies and market trends designed to help them to compete on the global stage.

Throughout the two day conference, speakers from local and global high tech organisations will help attendees to gain a more detailed understanding of people, products and innovation at a series of workshops and keynote presentations on the themes of Software Engineering, Smart Cities, Cyber Security, and education.

Tech entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to explore funding opportunities in the local start-up scene while 400 post-primary students will attend inspirational sessions on sustainable digital career paths.

Speaking at the launch of BelTech, Tom Gray, chief technology officer at Kainos, said: “Each year BelTech creates more excitement in the local technology industry.
