The takeover marks a further milestone in JF Travel’s continued growth, with Northcoast Travel becoming the latest addition to its expanding network of locally operated travel agencies.

Managing director Jonny Fielding welcomed the announcement, describing the acquisition as both a strategic and personal achievement: “I am delighted to confirm the takeover of Northcoast Travel.

“As a local man who grew up in the area, this is a business I know well, and taking ownership means a great deal to me personally and professionally.”

Mr Fielding explained that discussions with Northcoast Travel owner began several months ago, focusing on the long-term future of the business.

“When Jenny and I began discussions regarding the future of Northcoast Travel, I was honoured that she placed her trust in me to take the business forward,” he continued.

“This acquisition represents a strong and strategic move for JF Travel, strengthening our presence while ensuring Northcoast Travel continues to operate with the values it has always stood for.”

He added that the move reflects a commitment to protecting independent, family-run businesses in an increasingly competitive market: “In a world increasingly dominated by large national multiples, it is vital that local, family-run businesses are protected while remaining competitive. “Under JF Travel’s ownership, increased buying power will allow Northcoast Travel to offer more competitive pricing, while maintaining the personal, local service its customers value.”

The Northcoast Travel outlet becomes the first new store to join JF Travel since the launch of its Magherafelt and Ballymena branches in 2024.

Reassuring existing customers, Mr Fielding confirmed that the current team will remain in place: “To the clients of Northcoast Travel, I want to reassure you that the same experienced staff remain in place, now supported by the wider JF Travel team.

“Northcoast Travel will continue to operate locally, with added strength, stability, and opportunity for future growth.

“I am incredibly excited about the future of Northcoast Travel and what it can achieve as part of the JF Travel family moving forward.”
