'It’s a proud moment for our team' : Co Armagh links with world’s tastiest and award-winning ducks
Co Armagh-owned producer picks up 15 stars across 12 products, including the top three-star accolade for its duck breast fillets
A duck processor that’s owned from Moira, Co Armagh has strengthened its rating as one of the world’s tastiest in the recent UK Great Taste Awards.
Silver Hill Duck, part of Fane Valley Foods, one of Ireland’s most successful farming co-operatives, since 2019, achieved its best-ever Great Taste result in July and is in the running to be named Supreme Champion in the global awards.
The company, which produces a wide range of Irish duck products at its plant at Emyvale in Co Monaghan, just over the border from Armagh, was awarded 15 Great Taste stars across 12 products at the Great Taste Awards 2026 in London.
Its Plain Duck Breast Fillets was awarded an incredible three stars – the highest possible accolade, achieved by fewer than two per cent of around 15,000 entries from across the world.
“It’s a proud moment for our team and fantastic recognition of the quality, flavour and craftsmanship that goes into our duck,” said the company, which is also in the running to retain the Irish Food Exporter of the Year title.
“It’s our best Great Taste Awards result yet,” the company added.
The achievement is a significant boost for the business, which employs around 200 people at its Emyvale operation and continues to build its presence in international markets.

Founded in 1962, Silver Hill Duck is a fully integrated premium duck producer.
All aspects of its duck production are owned and controlled by Silver Hill Duck, from breeding, egg production, hatching and selection, to processing, cooking and packaging.
The company’s focus on controlling the production process has helped it build a strong reputation for the quality of its products, with Silver Hill Ducks now exported worldwide to markets such as Europe, the UK, the Middle East and Asia.
The latest Great Taste success adds to the company’s growing international reputation and comes as it continues to develop its position within the wider food and farming sector.
With 15 stars secured across its product range, Silver Hill Duck is now hoping its strong showing at this year’s awards will lead to further recognition when the Supreme Champion title is decided.
The result provides a further boost for the business, which has maintained its focus on premium duck production while expanding its reach into international markets.
