'It’s wonderful to be back': Crowds flock as new Northern Ireland Pizza Hut enjoys 'phenomenal start' selling 15,000 slices in just two weeks

A new Pizza Hut restaurant in Bangor has enjoyed a phenomenal start, selling more than 15,000 pizza slices within just two weeks of opening.

The global brand officially opened its doors at Toscanna Retail Park on Friday, marking a return to the city 15 years after its previous store closure. The launch represents a significant investment in Bangor and has created up to 20 new local jobs.

The new branch is the third Pizza Hut location in Northern Ireland, joining existing restaurants on Ormeau Road and Belmont Road in Belfast. All three restaurants offer dine-in, collection, and delivery options, catering to a wide range of customer preferences.

The store’s early success highlights strong local demand and excitement for the brand’s return to Bangor, underlining Pizza Hut’s continued growth and commitment to the Northern Ireland market.

Restaurant manager Bhavishya Chauhan said the response from customers had exceeded expectations.

“It’s wonderful to be back in Bangor and in doing so creating up to 20 jobs,” she said. “We’re looking forward to rekindling the taste buds again and we certainly have done that since opening. Since last Friday we have enjoyed a phenomenal start selling a record number of slices and the support from the local community has been incredible.”

The opening comes at a time of continued regeneration in Bangor, with work ongoing on the £70 million Queen’s Parade redevelopment project.

The new restaurant aims to boost the local economy while giving residents and visitors greater choice in casual dining. Customers can access the full Pizza Hut menu through dine-in, collection or delivery, with additional offers available via the Pizza Hut app.

The launch further strengthens the company’s footprint in Northern Ireland and signals continued investment in the region.
