The brainchild of Francesca Fennell, Joob Joobs is a ‘sweet shop experience’ catering for every type of sweet tooth including vegan and gluten free.

She gives 10% of profits to a local charity.

From the beginning the 28-year-old wanted her business to mean something, and so is helping the Tens Foundation, on the Lisburn Road, which supports vulnerable children, families and communities in the Philippines through the sale of their schoolbags.

Francesca explained: “Since we launched back in September 2020 we have seen sales triple digitally month-on-month, with 75% of our sales going to mainland GB. This month we relaunched our website with a cool new design and introduced gifting ideas including our own letterbox friendly Valentines gift set - perfect for loved one who you maybe can’t see this Valentines with restrictions or great for a couples night in if you are ‘lucky’ enough to be stuck with your partner during the whole lockdown.”

Joob Joobs prides itself on bringing new confectionery to people in UK and is planing to expand into European market.

“I am shortly expanding to Europe, making the business international,” said Francesca. “Also as soon as lockdown is over I am planing to open a Joob Joobs shop in Belfast.

“This will hopefully allow customers to see our wonderful solid Easter eggs in store as well as online.

“I work directly with independent confectionery makers across the world - from UK , Sweden , Denmark , USA so far. And I am the only independent sweet shop within the UK online and bring products not found anywhere else in Northern Ireland.”

Joob Joobs makes its own unique products including chocolate bars, lollies, sweet tubs as well as the only solid Easter egg within the UK.

Francesca added: “We are selling the only solid Easter egg within the UK and have six options including ones suitable for vegans and non vegans. You won’t find them if you walk into Tesco or Centra.

“We have an influencer programme application form on the website where anyone can sign up who likes social media and we could be in contact to give customers free sweets to try.”
