‘We may well be in lockdown and have to ‘stay home’ but that doesn’t mean that we can’t keep moving, keep healthy and stay strong,’ according to local business owner and yoga teacher, Danielle McCormick.

Based in Ballycastle, Danielle quickly went about establishing new online yoga platform, Yoga SOS, as a direct response to the COVID-19 pandemic to ensure that local people had an opportunity to remain connected to each other through an online health and wellbeing community with the aim of helping to reduce feelings of social isolation, loneliness, low mood or anxiety.

Danielle, explained: “I wanted to establish an easily accessible platform for local people to enable them to maintain personal health and wellbeing during these peculiar times when we are facing almost complete lockdown.”

Danielle, added “The classes are designed to suit anyone with an interest in keeping healthy, regardless of age or level of experience and can be viewed

via laptop, tablet or mobile phone.

“There is something for everyone; from the complete beginner right through to the well-seasoned practitioner. I have a mix of short and slower paced classes right through to one-hour sessions focusing on building strength, stamina and flexibility.

“You don’t need any fancy equipment, just some comfy clothing and a space on the floor about the same size as a beach towel, and even better, viewers can complete the exercises at any time and in the comfort of their own home!”
