Ian commented: “The provision of high quality professional training is hugely important as we endeavour to grow many sectors of our industry. The role Lantra plays in delivering accredited industry training is critical to the success of many NI agri-food businesses ensuring that we have a highly trained, highly motivated, professional workforce.”

Lantra’s National Council for Northern Ireland plays a key role in Lantra’s work as it is essential to have a strong employer body that can identify the needs of sectors and influence provision of training and skills development.

Paula Smyth, Business Development Manager, said: “I would like to welcome Ian as our new National Council Chairman, and I am confident that he will make an important contribution to shaping the work of the group. I would also like to thank Campbell Tweed, the outgoing Chairman, for his hard work, enthusiasm and commitment to Lantra.”

Marcus Potter, Lantra Chief Executive, commented: “Lantra’s strength lies in close relationships with industry that helps us to understand employer needs for skills. The Northern Ireland National Council is a crucial part of this industry-led approach.”
