Marshall is appointed to Lantra post

Ian Marshall is a farmer from Markethill in Co Armagh. He is a long standing member of the Ulster Farmers’ Union (UFU), serving as the Group Chairman in the Armagh Down before taking up the role of Co Armagh Chairman.

He has also served for many years on the UFU Executive Committee, and has been a board member for the past four years whilst also representing the UFU on the YFCU Executive Committee. He is currently a trustee on the Agri-search Board and a member of the Farm Safety Partnership. Ian is also a member of the Agri-Food Strategy Board, and has a keen interest in skills and training in agriculture.

Ian commented: “The provision of high quality professional training is hugely important as we endeavour to grow many sectors of our industry. The role Lantra plays in delivering accredited industry training is critical to the success of many NI agri-food businesses ensuring that we have a highly trained, highly motivated, professional workforce.”

Lantra’s National Council for Northern Ireland plays a key role in Lantra’s work as it is essential to have a strong employer body that can identify the needs of sectors and influence provision of training and skills development.
