Maxol investment to create 10 jobs

Leading forecourt and convenience retailer, Maxol has announced it is investing £1.25million to upgrade shop facilities in eight of its company-owned service stations across Northern Ireland this year.

The investment will see Maxol extend its fresh chilled food and convenience offering in conjunction with its symbol partner Spar at eight stores.

The firm is also planning to introduce its new ‘Moreish’ café/deli in two stores along with two Spar ‘Tasty Delis’ and two ‘Subways’. These will offer customers a wide range of sandwiches, salads, hot & cold meals and coffee – there’s something for everyone whether they are grabbing it on the go or taking a break in store and enjoying free Wi-Fi.

Maxol Group general manager, Brian Donaldson said: “Creating a first class consumer experience has always been a top priority for Maxol.

The eight stores to benefit from the investment will be Scarva Road in Banbridge, Bryansburn and Ballyholme in Bangor, Hightrees in Donaghadee, Rosepark in Dondonald and Cherryvalley, Belvoir and Tates Avenue in Belfast.

Terry Mulkerns, Independent licensee of Scarva Road station said, “I’m absolutely thrilled that Maxol selected our business for investment and for a Moreish cafe.

“It’s an undertaking that will not only benefit the local community and our much appreciated customers but the local suppliers and stakeholders as well.”
