Meadow Bridge primary goes tractor crazy

Meadow Bridge Primary School, at Hillsborough is gearing up for a tractor run which takes place this Saturday, 12th March, at 11am.

Rehearsals are also well underway for the school’s production of a Dan Gordon play called ‘Schauldies up the Chimley’, to be held on the 17th and 18th March. This production teaches the children from P1-P7 a lot about their local history, and the school has particularly focused on the life and inventions of Harry Ferguson.

To date the school has had a visit from an ex-pupil Emma Nelson who brought her tractor and trailer full of pigs to the school playground.

As well as the play itself the children at the school have been working hard on displays of work relating to Harry Ferguson and life in Northern Ireland during the Second World War.

Hillsborough Young Farmers will be some of the local farmers taking part in the tractor run. Many tractors have already registered for the event but there is still time for people to pre-register using the Meadow Bridge Tractor Run Facebook page, contacting Elaine Woods on the school telephone number, 028 9262 2509 or contact Colleen Compton on 07875 479018. You can also register on the day from 10.00 pm. Spectators are very welcome.
