Mild, dull and damp June: Warmest for six years

Total precipitation was 75.20 mm (3.0 inches) including two trace values, nearly 30% more than the most recent (1981–2010) 30-year average June rainfall at Armagh. This was the wettest June for four years, that is, since the very wet June 2012. The wettest day was the 12th, with 21.5 mm (0.85 inches) of rainfall.

The mean monthly temperature was 15.2 degrees Celsius, nearly 1.8 degrees C warmer than the long-term (1796–2010) average June temperature at Armagh and 1.3 C warmer than the most recent (1981–2010) 30-year average June temperature at Armagh. This was the warmest June at Armagh for six years, that is, since June 2010, and the twelfth warmest June at Armagh on record.

The warmest day (highest maximum air temperature) was 26.1 degrees C, which occurred on the 6th. There was thunder late morning that day and also, heard in the distance, on the afternoon of the 13th. The coolest night (lowest minimum air temperature) was 5.6 C on the 3rd. There were two nights with ground frost, the coldest of which, with a minimum ground temperature of -1.2 C, occurred also on the 3rd.

There was a total of 113.6 hours of strong sunshine, that is, approximately 79% of the most recent (1981–2010) average June sunshine at Armagh. The sunniest day was the 2nd, with a total of 15.0 hours of strong sunshine.
