The hospitals they deliver to include Belfast City Hospital, Ulster Hospital and The Royal Victoria Hospital.

The founders were also contacted by relatives of vulnerable people asking to help their family members delivering the nutrious food straight to their door as well as personally delivering home-made meals to other local vulnerable community members.

They have also started a new fund to raise money £2,000 for vulnerable people with the help of local charities after having a really touching conversation with a new customer.

Matthew Roman-Wilkinson, explained: “I was contacted by a customer who wanted to start using my meal service. She sent me a very detailed email telling me her situation and so I rung her to have a chat and see how we can help. Angela has a great spirit for what she is going through throughout this pandemic. She is disabled, living with M-S and has cancer, she had two full time carers at the start of COVID-19 but due to her health she let them go to protect herself. Angela is at high risk of infection due to her immune system and catching coronavirus could potentially kill her. Her doctor told her if she was to get sick, she wouldnt survive.

“For the last few weeks Angela has been living on toast and whatever else she has in her house, unable to go to the shops or unable to get a home delivery anymore. She doesn’t have any family except a brother, who has has health conditions so is unable to help her.

“I’d like to raise money for people in Angela’s position, as I’m sure there are plenty during this. I would like to set something up where these people know they will always have food, support and someone to help them and to talk to.

“Any donation, big or small will go a long way to helping locate, feed and support people in Belfast throughout and hopefully beyond coronavirus.”

Christopher Millar, contined: “This is a challenging time for many small business owners, but rather than sit back and wait this out, we decided to lend a hand to our local community and do as much as we can.

“We felt a certain level of responsibility and as food is extremely essential, we knew we had the power to help those in desperate need of home-cooked foods.

“We have also launched a 20% discount scheme for all NHS workers who are struggling to find time to go to the supermarkets and or have no time or energy to cook for themselves.”

Talking about the business during COVID-19, Matthew, added; “We have actually seen a spike in new customers during this time too.

“What we found is that these customers are opting to skip supermarket queues for home-cooked delivery meals. Some of our other customers decided that they wanted to lose weight during this time to avoid snacking at home.”
