The organisers of Omagh Show, which this year takes place on July 1st and 2nd, have developed a close working relationship with local Young Farmers Clubs and this latest initiative will further cement that partnership.

The PA1 is land based course and a new legal requirement for the use of pesticide.

Pesticides are very widely and successfully used in land-based industries, but they can be potentially harmful substances, therefore it is essential that they are handled, applied and stored correctly, making training essential.

Effective application of pesticides will help members develop the knowledge of pesticides, enabling them to work safely and effectively in the field.

On completion of the course the members will be able to understand and use pesticide product label information, understand how pesticides work, and how to apply them to maximum effect, understand the importance of droplet size and water volume in achieving this, select appropriate application equipment to achieve this, mix pesticides safely and operate safely and effectively in the field.
