Online hub provides facts about COVID-19

The Economic and Social Research Institute (Esri) Ireland, the market leader in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), has announced that it has launched a new online hub to provide authoritative information, maps and resources about the response to the COVID-19 pandemic in Northern Ireland.

The digital mapping company with headquarters in Dublin, as well as an office in Hollywood, has collated data from a number of official sources, including the Public Health Agency, Public Health England, The Living Atlas and other sources to create the hub.

The freely available online hub visualises statistical data related to the outbreak of coronavirus across Northern Ireland, including the total number of confirmed cases and tests, as well as an age and sex breakdown of the confirmed cases.

The hub also regularly updates additional information on confirmed cases across the globe, with links to further resources from the World Health Organisation and other national and international bodies.

It also provides best practice and guidelines from the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on how to identify symptoms, protect yourself and others, and what to do when you are sick or are showing slight symptoms.
