The couple wrote: “It is with regret that we announce that we will be closing indefinitely on the 23rd of December.

They also urged anyone holding a voucher to book a table before the closure date or contact the restaurant via email.

News of the shutdown prompted a wave of sadness from regulars, who described the brasserie – known for its hearty seasonal dishes, cocktails and popular wine nights — as “the most underrated restaurant in Belfast”.

Bank Square Brasserie’s final service will take place on December 23, with the owners hinting at the possibility of future projects as they sign off: “We will hopefully see you again on our next adventure.”
