Parr Group leads team to help the vulnerable

Working with partners, colleagues and even industry competitors, the team behind Parr Group who operates across Northern Ireland the North West of England has taken a significant step to show their support for the wider community by organising and mobilising a multi-organisation support team aimed at supporting Northern Ireland’s most vulnerable citizens in the face of the growing Covid-19 medical crisis across the country.

The team at Parr Group along with partnering companies have put in place a range of services and support which can be availed of by elderly and vulnerable residents across Northern Ireland as the impacts of social distancing and isolation are felt. The group has also announced a free of charge emergency call out service for frontline NHS staff.

“In these unprecedented times, we felt it was important to help our most vulnerable citizens wherever we can,” said Stephen Parr, Parr Group’s Managing Director. “In times of crisis, we need to show a united front within the local business community to try and offer support to the elderly and vulnerable and also frontline NHS staff.”

Beginning from tomorrow (Friday 20 th March), team members from Parr and partner organisations who together offer a substantial fleet of vehicles are offering a 24-hour helpdesk, hosted by Parr Group, which can be reached at: 0330 102 5730. Support offered by the team of local businesses includes emergency boiler call-outs and repairs, addressing electrical emergencies, and facilitating food deliveries and collections for those who are experiencing isolation. Deep cleaning services for both residential and commercial properties is also available, and Parr has teamed up with local company ‘until it’s done’ based in East Belfast to provide this service.

The group has already reached out to local representatives, government officials and local councils about the offering in light of a prospective lockdown across Northern Ireland and hopes that they will show their support for this community initiative.

To maintain safety, the team will be operating a doorstep policy, ensuring no direct contact between volunteers and members of the community. Parr Group has also offered their units if required for use as food banks.
