Police recover 19 stolen sheep in Co Antrim

Police in Antrim, with the assistance of enforcement officers from the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (DAERA), have recovered approximately 19 sheep, believed to have been stolen last month from the Newtownabbey area.

A quantity of fireworks and livestock identification tags were also recovered during the operation which took place on Wednesday (March 15th).

Constable Allister Speedy said: “Rural and agricultural crime is a serious issue and police understand the concerns of those who have been directly involved. It is important to stress that the PSNI takes a robust approach in tackling all crime, including those which affect the rural community.”
