Sponsored by Danske Bank, the herds competition attracts entries from 20 herds. Mr Cochrane will spend three days travelling the length and breadth of the country where he will inspect more than 1,400 cows.

Club vice chairman Stewart Baxter said: “This is an event not to be missed, and an opportunity to view one of the province’s most highly regarded pedigree Ayrshire herds. We are extending an open invitation to all club members and breed enthusiasts.

“We are also indebted to Danske Bank for its continued support of our annual herd competition.”

The farm is situated at 10 Ardmore Road, Crumlin, Co Antrim, BT29 4QS.
