Hide AdRSABI provides financial assistance, support and a helpline to people with backgrounds in agriculture, forestry, fish-farming, rural estate work, gamekeeping, crofting and horticulture who, due to age, injury, illness or misfortune find that they are unable to cope. Last year it helped 900 people, contributed over £600,000 in direct financial support.
Nina Clancy had the following to say about the donation: “We’re always so grateful to those who provide donations to RSABI, and so we’re simply thrilled to receive a cheque for £1,500 from the Montrose Farmers’ Ball committee. Our thanks goes to them for their efforts in raising such a large sum of money for RSABI.
“This money will go a way towards helping us support those who have depended on the land for livelihood and now need a helping hand themselves, and we’re going to be keeping in touch with the members of the committee so they can see first-hand the benefit that their donation is having.”
Sandy Milne of the Montrose Farmers Ball committee said: “Every year we choose a different charity to receive our donation, and this year we decided upon RSABI. There were several reasons for this, but it was mainly down to the high demand they are experiencing due to the poor returns, and the hardship farming is experiencing at the moment.

Our dance is always well attended and is a great night out, so we’re looking forward to another one in November.”
