'She brings deep banking expertise': Former Northern Ireland boss takes on independent non-executive role at the UK specialist bank
Ex-chief executive Vicky Davies appointed independent non-executive director at the UK retail and commercial banking group
Former Danske Bank UK chief executive Vicky Davies has been appointed to the board of British retail and commercial lender Shawbrook Group.

Davies, who recently stepped down as chief executive of the Belfast-headquartered bank, will join Shawbrook Group plc and subsidiary Shawbrook Bank as an independent non-executive director from November.
She will also serve on the group's Audit Committee, Risk Committee, and Nomination and Governance Committee.
Davies led Danske Bank UK from 2021 until July 2026, following a succession process that saw Julie-Ann Haines take over as chief executive. Before becoming CEO, she served as deputy chief executive and held a range of senior executive positions at the bank after joining in 2011.
During her tenure, Danske Bank UK reported significant profit growth, expanded its operations beyond its traditional Northern Ireland base into the wider UK market, and invested heavily in technology and digital banking capabilities.
Announcing the appointment, Shawbrook Group chair John Callender said Davies would bring extensive banking expertise to the board.
"We are delighted to welcome Vicky to the Shawbrook Board," he said.
"She brings deep banking expertise across SME, commercial and retail segments, a strong track record of driving innovation and significant experience of operating in a complex regulated environment.
"Her leadership credentials and insights will further strengthen the independent challenge and oversight our Board provides."
Shawbrook is a UK specialist bank focused on serving SMEs, property investors and consumers through retail and commercial banking products.
The appointment marks Davies' first major board role since stepping down as chief executive of Danske Bank UK and keeps one of Northern Ireland's most experienced banking executives at the forefront of the UK financial services sector.
