Artificial Intelligence specialist and Queen’s University spin-out Sonrai Analytics have been selected as a participant in an exclusive programme that brings together the UK’s most exciting AI companies.

The six-month programme focuses on providing founders and leaders of the sector with invaluable skills, a powerful network – including businesses, peers, investors and potential clients.

Sonrai, established in 2018 by Dr Darragh McArt and Deva Senevirathne, unlocks critical information contained in Big Data. The data is generated by researchers in drug trials and other healthcare contexts that can lead to faster and more effective treatments and cures for cancer and other diseases.

Sonrai applies AI and deep learning to develop bespoke applications and interfaces that enable healthcare organisations, biotech and pharma to filter and transform data sets in real time.

The platform delivers cutting-edge data visualisation and predictive analytics to workflows that accelerate organisational processes and improves performance.

Highlighting the importance of the programme, Dr McArt said: “It is an honour to be considered as a game-changing company in AI by the renowned panel of Tech Nation Judges.

“It’s not the easiest time to be a start-up, but knowing that we will have the opportunity to meet investors and share our journey with other AI founders going through similar challenges is exciting.”

Outlining their reasons for choosing Sonrai Analytics, Harry Rhys Davies, AI Programme Lead for Tech Nation added: “We are delighted to welcome Sonrai Analytics into this year’s Applied AI programme.

“Sonrai stood out for us given the strength of the team and their cutting-edge technology that has been applied to a meaningful, impactful use case in healthcare. These elements convinced judges that Sonrai has real potential for scale and Tech Nation is thus delighted to be supporting their growth.”
