Northern Ireland quarry and minerals processor Kilwaughter Minerals, which was acquired by Saint-Gobain in December 2024, has reported an increase in turnover to £50.6 million for the year to 30th April 2025

This compares to £46m for the previous year, according to the latest annual accounts for Kilwaughter Minerals Limited filed at Companies House.

Profits before tax were £6.7m, compared to £9m in the previous 12 months. This decline relates to one-off exceptional expenses of £3m incurred during the period as a result of the acquisition – along with its immediate holding company and holding subsidiary.

In March 2025, Kilwaughter Minerals and Weber were brought together as Saint-Gobain Exterior Solutions UK, with each company’s market-facing brands continuing to operate and trade as normal.

Kilwaughter, head-quartered just outside Larne in County Antrim, donated £2.2m to support local charitable projects as it continued to be a strong and loyal supporter of the community it serves.

Gary Wilmot, Saint-Gobain Exterior Solutions UK managing director, said: “Kilwaughter delivered a strong operational performance during the year, underpinned by continued demand across our construction and agriculture markets, which is reflected in growth in turnover.

“While profits were impacted by exceptional costs associated with the acquisition by Saint-Gobain, this was a transformative period for the business. Becoming part of a global leader in sustainable construction provides a strong platform for long-term growth, continued innovation and further investment in our people, products and the communities we serve.”

Kilwaughter Minerals primarily operated in the construction and agriculture industries, developing and manufacturing products including through-colour renders, external wall insulation systems, soil health conditioning minerals and livestock bedding lime solutions. The company’s brands include Kilwaughter Lime, K Systems and K Rend.

Saint-Gobain is a global leader in the design and manufacture of solutions for the construction industry and employs 161,000 people across 80 countries globally.

During the financial year up to the end of April 2025, Kilwaughter and its products continued to receive a wide range of industry accolades, including success in prestigious awards programmes such as the Builders Merchant Federation Awards, Construction Marketing Awards, INCA and the Plant & Civil Engineer Awards.
