Avondale Foods will supply two Asda Extra Special Coleslaws – Chipotle and Yogurt - and a Sweet Chilli Chicken Noodle Salad to over 200 UK-based stores, as well as a Vegan Coleslaw under the company’s new ‘V Kitchen’ brand to Asda stores in NI.

Hannah Rodgers, Account Manager, Avondale Foods said: “To produce three own brand products, including two Extra Special lines - on a national scale - is fantastic, and as a business makes us very proud! Both the Extra Special coleslaws are low in saturated fat and the Chilli Chicken Noodle salad is low in sugar, saturated fat and is a great source of protein.

“Our main challenge for the vegan coleslaw was to develop a tasty product, with the creamy texture consumers know and love. After a lot of research and trials, we developed a vegan mayonnaise dressing using fresh produce, specialist equipment, and unique mixing methods. This has enabled Avondale to create a coleslaw which is totally vegan but is virtually indistinguishable in terms of texture and taste from traditional coleslaw.”

Cloughbane Farm Foods, which already has 15 of its branded products listed in Asda stores across NI, will add two of its best-selling lines - Chicken, Ham & Leek Pie and Savoury Mince Pie - to the retailer’s portfolio.

“Asda currently stocks an extensive range of Cloughbane products - and we’re delighted to secure these new listings for our award-winning pies,” explained Amy Moore, Cloughbane, Sales and Marketing Manager. “Over the past couple of months, we have seen consumer demand for traditional family meals soar as people spend more mealtimes together. Our pies are a perfect example of high quality, locally sourced and produced comfort food and we know they will be a big hit. Both products are Great Taste award winner as well!”

Emma Swan, Asda Buying Manager Northern Ireland added: “It’s brilliant to bring six more locally produced products to Asda shelves – not only in Northern Ireland but across the UK as well. We have great relationships with both Avondale Foods and Cloughbane Farm Foods, who continue to create new and innovative items we know our customers will love. I’m sure the pies and coleslaws will be no exception – in fact, they go perfectly together!”
