Swatragh Mart: Bullocks selling to £1,020 for 392kg

Cattle: Swatragh Livestock Mart had another excellent show of good quality cattle for sale on Monday 27th March which met with a really flying trade and a super ring of buyers with some excellent prices.

More quality stock is required to meet demand.

Bullocks selling to £1,020 for 392kg (£2.60 per kg), £820 for 304kg (£2.70 per kg) and £1,180 for 580kg (£2.03 per kg).

Heifers selling to £1,050 for 442kg (£2.38 per kg) and £925 for 382kg (£2.42 per kg).

Sheep: A very strong entry of approximately 1,100 quality sheep were presented at the weekly sheep sale at Swatragh on Saturday 25th March, witnessing a strong demand for well fleshed ewes with top prices being paid.

Several pens of heavy lambs sold well in excess of £90.00 each to a top rate of £94.80, middleweight lambs sold to £84.00 for 22kg and fat ewes were in high demand with several over £100 and a top price of £115 being paid.

Breeders were in high demand with the top price of £230 being paid for doubles and singles to £158. Foster ewes reached £152, springers reached £100 and pets to £20. More stock required to meet the demand.
