Dr. John Ghent, Chief Executive Officer of Sytorus, said: “The move by more businesses to shift services online in response to the Covid-19 pandemic further complicates compliance with data privacy laws such as GDPR.

“Our new team will help us meet the rising demand for data privacy and data protection solutions and services across the globe.

“Support from Invest Northern Ireland, including expert insight into the talent already on offer, and emerging from local universities, made Northern Ireland a clear choice for us.”

“Due to Covid-19 we have switched to remote-working, which we are keeping on a permanent basis for improved work-life balance and flexibility.

“Our new team will also be home-based and we are excited to tap into an increased talent pool from all across Northern Ireland, not restricted by geography or personal circumstances.”

Invest NI has secured the investment for Northern Ireland, by offering Sytorus support from the Invest NI ROI team and virtual meetings with key stakeholders during the pandemic. It has offered the company £91,000 towards the creation of the 13 new jobs.

Recruitment is underway and includes roles in Sales Development and Account Management, with opportunities for graduates.

Derek Andrews, Head of International Investment at Invest NI, said: “I am delighted to welcome Sytorus to Northern Ireland as part of our growing business services sector.

“Our guidance and financial support has helped bring the company to Northern Ireland to avail of this talent. The fact that these jobs are home-based is not only important during the current circumstances, but means Sytorus can continue to grow its presence across all areas of Northern Ireland long term.

“Over 70 per cent of jobs created by international investors in Northern Ireland are across the ICT, financial services and business services sectors1, which is a testament to the talent and skills we have on offer.

“The new jobs are a welcome addition to our local economy and will contribute £440,000 in additional annual salaries as we rebuild post-pandemic.”

Sytorus provides GDPR and data privacy solutions for organisations in retail, hospitality, not-for-profit, medical & clinical research, financial services, local government and government agencies.
