The range, which is handmade in Northern Ireland, has been developed by the Lisburn-based business as it adapts its manufacturing to capitalise on market opportunities for high-quality sustainable alternatives.

Available in several colours, the 100% Irish linen face coverings feature adjustable toggles on the ear loops to ensure a comfortable fit. They have been carefully designed to allow wearers to insert a disposable filter* for added protection against potentially harmful bacteria.

Available to both consumers and trade, the range can also be customised to feature embroidered or screen-printed branding for corporate orders.

STATSports, which employs around 100 people in Newry, has already placed a significant corporate order. STATSports has grown to be the world-leading provider of GPS player tracking and analysis equipment. It has offices in Northern Ireland, London, Chicago and Florida.

Gillian McLean, Managing Director at Ulster Weavers, explained: “We anticipate significant interest from the corporate sector and are really pleased to have secured a large order from STATSports, one of Northern Ireland’s leading businesses. As a local independent company, we pride ourselves on our ability to work closely with customers, designing products tailored to their specific needs and requirements.”

Commenting on market drivers, she says sustainability and sourcing locally are important factors for customers: “Being based locally means we can offer a more responsive service and competitive rates. Our handmade Irish linen face coverings are also eco-friendly which is becoming an increasingly important consideration for procurement.

”Breathability and comfort are essential attributes in all face coverings and weigh heavily on the consumer’s purchase decision. But we also understand that consumers are seeking fashionable alternatives to the face coverings currently available on the market. To accommodate this growing demand, our new collection has been launched in seasonal colours.”

Established in 1880, Ulster Weavers is a home textiles company based in Lisburn producing an extensive range of giftware, homeware and textiles for international markets. It works with brands like Harrods, John Lewis, Fortnum & Mason and Lakeland.
