Video: Eikon Centre hosts Spring Farm Machinery Show

Event organiser Andrew Short, from AJS Promotions Ltd, has confirmed a large turnout of visitors for this week's Spring Farm Machinery Show. The event was held in the Eikon Exhibition Centre at '¨Balmoral Park.

“The new facility is tremendous,” he said. “It is a great location, easy to get to and parking for visitors is not a problem.

“All of these advantages make the hosting of an event of this scale a very straightforward process indeed.”

Short confirmed that 126 exhibitors took part in the Show. He said that the current downturn in milk and other commodity prices had not put farmers off from attending the event.

“Farming is very cyclical in nature. Shows of this nature are not just about sales on the day. They may well plant the seed in a farmer’s head regarding a machinery item that he may end up purchasing months afterwards.

“Farmers know they must invest in the future of their businesses, in order to become more efficient. And it is only by attending events such as the Spring Farm Machinery Show that they will get to see and hear about the new equipment and machinery lines that will make an impact within agriculture over the coming years.

“I am also aware of the fact that many of the exhibitors were offering a number of excellent deals on a range of products this week.”

Redrock Machinery’s Mark Linden confirmed that the Markethill-based company is extremely busy at the 
present time.

“There is a very strong demand for our range of slurry equipment, including pumps and tankers,” he said.

“This ties in with the recent ending of the slurry spreading ban. Land is drying up and men want to get slurry out as quickly possible.”

Linden also confirmed a year-round demand for the company’s range of 
feeding equipment.

“Farmers are looking to the future, with the sole aim of driving efficiency levels up within their businesses,” he said.
