'We can’t wait to open our door': Iceland Foods to open new Northern Ireland Food Warehouse store creating 28 jobs - with £1,500 in vouchers up-for-grabs

£1,500 in vouchers, prize giveaways and a 90-second supermarket sweep up for grabs as The Food Warehouse opens at Riverside Regional Centre, with early shoppers entered into a special draw

Iceland Foods has announced it will open a new The Food Warehouse store in Coleraine next week, creating around 28 jobs in the local area.

The new store, located at the Riverside Regional Centre, will officially open its doors on Tuesday, March 24, offering shoppers an expanded range of frozen, fresh and grocery products.

To mark the launch, the retailer is giving away £1,500 worth of vouchers to the first 150 customers in the queue. Shoppers arriving before 7.40am on opening day will also receive a raffle ticket for the chance to take part in a supermarket sweep-style challenge, where winners can fill their trolley for free for 90 seconds.

Additional prizes will be drawn shortly after, including seven Tower air fryers, while a Daewoo double drawer air fryer will be awarded to the person who correctly guesses the number of sweets in a jar. Customers can also spin a Pepsi Max prize wheel, sample free drinks and take advantage of one-off in-store deals.

The Food Warehouse format, introduced in 2014, features stores that are typically double the size of traditional Iceland outlets, with wider aisles, warehouse-style layouts and larger pack sizes aimed at offering better value.

Opening week promotions, running from March 24 to 30, will include discounted prices on a range of popular products, from soft drinks and household items to snacks and multipack groceries. The store will also offer multi-buy deals such as 5 for £5, 3 for £10 and 2 for £8 across selected lines.

The launch adds to Iceland’s presence in the town, where it already operates a store on Railway Road, giving local shoppers greater choice and access to a wider product range.

Kristian Barrett, chief operating officer at Iceland Foods, said the company is looking forward to welcoming customers.

“We’re excited to be opening our new store in Coleraine, bringing more fantastic deals and a brilliant range of frozen, grocery and fresh foods to local shoppers,” he said.

“We can’t wait to open our doors and see our customers enjoy the unrivalled variety of products available across the store.”

The new store will be open from 8am to 9pm Monday to Saturday and from 1pm to 6pm on Sundays. Shoppers aged over 60 will also be able to take advantage of Iceland’s 10% discount, available every Tuesday.
