Fire crews rescue calf from outside slurry pit

Fire crews have rescued a calf after it fell into an outside slurry pit at Rasharkin.

The crews which attended the incident this morning were from Ballymena and Kilrea stations along with the Large Animal Rescue Team from Omagh and the Specialist Rescue Team from Belfast.

Station Commander Alan Barr, from Ballymena District, praised the efforts and teamwork of all involved. He was pleased to report that the rescue was successful and that the calf was reunited with it’s mum.
