Markethill Mart: In calf heifers and cows selling to a top price of £2410

An entry of 760 cattle at Markehtill on Saturday 14th November brought the total numbers sold for the current week to 1170 head.

BULLOCKS

An increased entry of 210 bullocks maintained an exceptionally strong trade with beef bullocks selling to a top of £246 per 100 kilos for 710k Charolais at £1745 from a Ballyward farmer followed by £236 per 100 kilos for 700k Charolais at £1655 from a Donacloney farmer.

Main trade for good quality beef bullocks from £210 to £230 per 100 kilos.

Top price of £1775 was paid for a 796k Charolais £223 from an Annaghmore farmer.

Forward feeding bullocks sold to a top of £249 per 100 kilos for 670k Limousin at £1665 from a Ballyward farmer followed by £248 per 100 kilos for 636k Limousin at £1575 from a Ballyward farmer.

Main demand for good quality feeders from £210 to £235 per 100 kilos.

Good quality middleweight bullocks sold from £210 to £246 per 100 kilos for 370k Limousin at £915 from a Richhill farmer followed by £244 for 440k Belgian Blue at £1075 from a Cullyhanna producer.
