Parents warned about children playing ‘dangerous game of Chicken’ which ‘will lead to fatalities’ - ‘The worst part of this is that it is happening after 9pm’
A NI school has issued a stark warning to parents to be aware their children are dicing with death in a dangerous game of Chicken in north Belfast.
A post on Holy Cross Boys P.S. says: “Dear Mums and dads. it has been brought to my attention that our pupils are engaged in quite a dangerous game of what is known as ‘Chicken’ at the bottom of Cranbrook and top of Northwick Drive.
“This game involves a child lying down on the road until they hear/see a car and then they get up and make a dash out of the way.
“The worst part of this is that it is happening after 9pm.
“This game will lead to fatalities and we ask that you talk to your child about the dangers of the of the road and to desist immediately from this game.
“Thank you for your continuing support.”
