Take a look at this experiment for a mini rocket. Let us know if you try it out!

MINI-ROCKET

What you will need:

Plastic Tube with secure cap

Water

Effervescent Table (such as vitamin C tablet)

Safety goggles and adults supervision recommended

Method:

Best to do this one in the garden

Fill the tub 1 quarter the way up with water

Add effervescent tablet

Secure cap, turn upside down and stand well back

The Science:

When the effervescent tablet is added to the water it starts to dissolve. This creates a gas called carbon dioxide, as the carbon dioxide is releases, pressure starts to build inside the plastic tube. The pressure will build up until the cap blasts down and the tube rocket is blasted upwards!
