ICU beds in Northern Ireland are at 92% capacity - five additional Covid-19 related deaths detected in 24 hours

There are nine unoccupied intensive care unit beds available in Northern Ireland, according to information published by the Department of Health (DoH) on Monday.

Included in the daily Covid-19 dashboard update is the information concerning hospital and ICU admissions.

Monday’s report reveals of 108 ICU beds in Northern Ireland, only nine are unoccupied.

Thirty-nine of the ICU beds are occupied by patients with Covid-19 and 60 are occupied by patients with other conditions.

The DoH has also recorded an additional five Covid-19 related deaths in the last 24 hours - it also means that 19 people across Northern Ireland have died since Friday at 10.00am.

An additional 727 infections were recorded in the last 24 hours and whilst significantly fewer than the last few days, it is worth remembering that weekend figures reported on a Monday always tend to be lower.

There are currently 342 inpatients with Covid-19 across Northern Ireland and there have been 513 people admitted to hospital in the last 14 days.
