NI school shuts after pupil test positive for Coronavirus COVID-19

A school in Northern Ireland has closed after a pupil tested positive for Coronavirus COVID-19.

St Dominic's Grammar School for Girls in Belfast is now closed for the rest of the week but it has not yet been confirmed when it will reopen.

Lessons will continue with staff delivering lessons remotely from home.

"We have been informed that one of our pupils has been confirmed as having Covid-19.

"A plan is in place to have the school deep cleaned.

"We have made the decision to have staff days on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

"Pupils do not attend," wrote school principal, Carol McCann.

"We are waiting further guidance from DE (Department for Education), EA (Education Authority) and Examination Boards.

"Please check Facebook, Twitter, school app and the school website for further advice.

"Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause," she added.
