Six additional Covid-19 related deaths in the last 24 hours - 449 new infections detected too

Six people have died in Northern Ireland in the last 24 hours after testing positive for Covid-19.

One of the people to sadly pass away was aged between 40-59.

Another individual to die was aged between 60-79 and the remaining six deaths were in people aged 80 or over.

Four of the people to die were female and two were male.

The six deaths occurred in the following local government districts: Belfast City Council (one); Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon (one); Antrim and Newtownabbey (two); Causeway Coast and Glens (one) and Newry, Mourne and Down (one).

The Department of Health (DoH) total Covid-19 death toll for the entire pandemic so far stands at 1,032.

The DoH also reported slight day-on-day decrease in the number of daily cases from 456 on Thursday to 449 on Friday.

It takes the total number of individuals in Northern Ireland to test positive for Covid-19 since the beginning of the pandemic now stands at 54,177.
