Six-week-old baby is youngest confirmed UK victim of virus

The infant, who had a pre-existing health condition, was one of 332 victims announced by NHS England on Friday, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 22,765.

A statement said: “Patients were aged between six weeks and 103 years old. 22 of the 332 patients (aged between 40 and 96 years old) had no known underlying health condition.”

NHS England releases updated figures each day showing the dates of every coronavirus-related death in hospitals in England, often including previously uncounted deaths that took place several days ago.

The NHS England figures show 12 deaths so far for hospital patients aged 0 to 19-years-old who had tested positive.
