Three additional COVID-19 related deaths in NI as 17 more people test positive

The number of people to die after testing positive for COVID-19 in Northern Ireland increased by three in the last 24 hours.

One of the three deaths occurred in the last 24 period with the other two taking place outside that time frame but they were reported to health officials within the last day.

It means the number of people in Northern Ireland to die after testing positive for COVID-19 according to the Department of Health (DoH) is now 521.

There are currently seven people in intensive care unit beds in hospitals right across Northern Ireland who are either suspected of or have tested postive for COVID-19.

A total of 1,083 people were tested for COVID-19 in Northern Ireland within the last 24 hours with 17 individuals testing positive.

In total, 6,449 people have been admitted to hospital in Northern Ireland since the beginning of the pandemic of which 5,889 were discharged.
