Two fashionable Co Tyrone sisters have raised over £20,000 in just 12 hours for the charity Leukaemia & Lymphoma NI.

Anita and Donna Ross from Dungannon, who own the independent fashion store, My Sister’s Closet, launched the fundraising appeal for a cause close to their hearts.

In September 2019, Anita was diagnosed with blood cancer, Hodgkin Lymphoma, and bravely shared her story on the My Sister’s Closet social media platforms she runs with Donna.

Anita said: “It was a complete shock when I was diagnosed with Hodgkin Lymphoma, but thankfully it was caught early and after 12 sessions of

chemotherapy, I am now living cancer free.’’

To mark the end of Anita’s chemotherapy journey and celebrate now being cancer free, the sisters are giving away a Chanel Trendy CC handbag, worth over $6,000, with all proceeds being donated to Leukaemia & Lymphoma NI.

‘‘The online community Donna and I have built up over the years was amazing in supporting me through this difficult time.

‘‘We share our day-to-day life with our followers, and I felt it was important to share my cancer journey, the highs and the lows, in the hope that I might be able to help other people in theirs and also raise awareness of Hodgkin Lymphoma at the same time.’’

Anita said that as thank you to their followers for their support, they had decided to offer them the chance to win a Chanel handbag.

‘‘We were able to track down the stunning sold-out Chanel Trendy CC handbag, which Donna and I purchased together using our own money.

‘‘We are delighted to give people the chance to win this beautiful bag and to enter we are simply asking for a minimum donation of £5 with all proceeds going to Leukaemia & Lymphoma NI, a fantastic local charity dedicated to fighting blood cancers.’’

The sisters launched the competition on Sunday at 3pm and said they have been ‘‘blown away’’ with the response.
