More than 1,600 new Covid cases in NI and 20 more deaths

A further 20 coronavirus-related deaths have been reported in Northern Ireland.

On Monday (Dec 28) afternoon, the Department of Health at Stormont said that 1,634 people had also tested positive for Covid-19.

With no daily update available on Sunday, those figures are in respect of the previous 48 hours.

The department said that “1,634 individuals have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 48 hours. Sadly a further 20 deaths have been reported”.

On December 26, it was revealed that in the previous 48 hour period there were also 20 deaths as well as 998 new cases recorded.

The daily Covid dashboard will be updated on Tuesday with full details.
