Teenage girl killed and two boys seriously injured as car hits wall

Two teenage boys were seriously injured in the single-vehicle crash in Harbour View Road, Knocknaheeney, at around 11.45pm on Wednesday.

Emergency services and the Roads Policing Unit were called to the scene.

The teenage girl, who was a passenger in the car, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver and a second passenger, who are teenage boys, suffered serious injuries.

They were taken to Cork University Hospital for treatment. The passenger’s condition is believed to be critical.

The body of the girl was taken to the mortuary at Cork University Hospital where a post-mortem will be carried out.

Harbour View Road was partially closed for Garda forensic collision investigators with local diversions in place.

Gardai are appealing to anyone who may have information regarding the collision, particularly any road users with camera footage who were travelling on Harbour View Road between 11pm and 12.30am, to contact Gurranabraher Garda station on 021 494 6200, the garda confidential line on 1800 666111 or any Garda station.
