The two schools have closed to facilitate what Minister Swann described as a "deep clean".

Mr. Swann was keen to stress that the health authorities did not believe anyone at either of the two schools was at risk and said the schools had closed as a precautionary measure.

Newtownhamilton High School will reopen on Monday March 16 while the primary school will open again on Wednesday March 18.

There are currently 12 confirmed cases of Coronavirus COVID-19 in Northern Ireland.
