Warning as baby formula recalled over fears it could contain plastic

As a result, Nestlé UK and Ireland announced it was voluntarily recalling three batches of SMA Wysoy 800g powder.

"We have been alerted that some cans may contain pieces of blue plastic used to make the scoops.

"We have identified the source of the problem and have already put in place the necessary corrective measures to address the issue," said Nestlé UK and Ireland.

The batches affected are 025057651Z, 025057652Z, 025157651Z with use by dates of June 2022 and September 2022.

No other batches of SMA Wysoy, or other SMA Nutrition or Nestlé products, are affected.

"We ask parents who feed their baby SMA Wysoy to look on the base of any cans they have to see if they are from an affected batch.

"If you have a can that matches the details above, please do not feed your baby with it.
