WATCH: Arlene Foster asks public to write letters to ‘elderly friends and relatives who are on their own’

First Minister Arlene Foster has published a short video asking members of the public to write a letter to their elderly friends and relatives to combat loneliness - given the numbers isolating due to Covid-19.

She said that ordinarily on a Saturday she would be at an event or shopping - but yesterday she was at home with her family.

She added this made her think of ‘the people who dont have anyone with them at this time’.

“We need to combat loneliness at this time, pick up your pen and write a letter,” she said.

She added: “Join me in writing to your elderly friends and relatives at this time”.
